BYD Ocean Series

The BYD Ocean series is a line of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles characterized by its "ocean aesthetics" design language, which features fluid, natural curves. Key models include the compact hatchback BYD Dolphin and the mid-size sedan BYD Seal, both built on the modular e-Platform 3.0. Other vehicles in the series include the BYD Seagull, Sealion, and the upcoming Ocean S concept, which showcases the future direction of the series.

Ocean aesthetics" focuses on vitality and nature, with a sleek, flowing silhouette, smooth surfaces, and innovative lighting inspired by ocean waves.
Most models are built on the BYD e-Platform 3.0, which is designed specifically for electric vehicles to improve safety, range, and driving experience. The platform supports an 800-volt architecture, enabling fast charging.

Changan is a state-owned Chinese automotive manufacturer headquartered in Chongqing. FANG CHENG BAO is a significant addition to BYD’s diversified brand matrix, following its Dynasty series, Ocean series, Denza, and Yangwang. The vehicle lineup of FANG CHENG BAO ranges from off-road vehicles to sports cars, and its initial model, a hardcore SUV codenamed SF, is expected to launch this year.

The brand name FANG CHENG BAO translates literally as “Formula” and “Leopard” from Chinese, symbolizing the pursuit of the transformative rise and the exploration of digital realms.
Fangchengbao provides efficient response and personalized solutions, ensuring every owner enjoys a worry-free journey.
It blends the standards and rules of Formula with the agility and wild versatility of the Leopard, bringing out the distinctive essence of the brand and BYD’s vision of future cars and lifestyles.

Kia

Kia previously operated factories in China through a joint venture with Dongfeng and Yueda, with its main manufacturing hub in Yancheng, Jiangsu Province. However, the company's presence in the Chinese market has changed significantly. It is now focusing on using its Chinese-made vehicles for export to other markets, particularly due to increased competition from local brands in the Chinese EV market.

Previous China operations: Kia's joint venture with Dongfeng and Yueda operated multiple plants in Yancheng, capable of producing hundreds of thousands of vehicles annually. While the joint venture was established in 2002, the partnership with Dongfeng ended when the company sold its stake to Jiangsu Yueda in 2021.
Recent developments: Kia is now prioritizing exports of China-made vehicles to other markets like Australia, New Zealand, Chile, and Colombia, because of the fierce competition in China's electrified vehicle market.
Production shift: The models produced at the Yancheng facilities are increasingly being exported instead of being sold domestically in China.
